Fischer Plastic Products has been manufacturing premium plastic storage products for over 50 years in the Australian and New Zealand market. We pride ourselves on utilising the best quality available materials and manufacturing long-lasting products that will serve your needs over a significant lifecycle.

Fischer Plastics chooses to operate in a sustainable manufacturing environment and utilises recycled materials on a number of their product lines. In conjunction with this, Fischer Plastics incorporates a component of solar power as well as recycled water systems throughout the intense manufacturing process.

As a part of the Fischer Plastics ethos, we choose to manufacture ethically and sustainability while still providing the best products at a competitive price point for the market. It can be surprisingly achievable to localise supply chains in plastics and support a shift towards sustainable manufacturing.

1. Recycled 'Viro' Range

The Fischer Plastics Viro range has been one of the fastest-growing parts of Fischer's overall business. We recover our waste product and other materials that would have otherwise ended up in landfill and repurpose them for the manufacturing process. This growing range of products made from our second-generation recycled materials offers an environmentally beneficial product while also keeping in line with the quality and brand recognition that people know and trust in Fischer Plastics.

  • Procurement Ready: as procurement policy and guidelines across Government and corporate decision-makers continues to emphasise recycled materials, Fischer Plastics is there to tick the boxes being both Australian made and a sustainable manufacturer.
  • Customer Service: We offer a high level and expert customer experience with Melbourne based sales staff willing and able to help you with projects from beginning to end.
  • End-to-End Solutions: By having on-site a world-class tooling room and injection moulding facility, Fischer Plastics can offer the complete package on projects with the capacity to design, concept and manufacture products exclusively in-house.

2. Energy and Water Use

While manufacturing and injection moulding is explicitly considered an energy and water-intensive process, Fischer Plastics has taken on board expert advice in areas of efficiency and sustainability to convert our processes. The water usage that is required in the critical cooling phase of manufacturing plastics is recycled water. We also incorporate a proportion of solar power into our energy requirements to minimise our carbon footprint.

3. Recycling

Throughout Fischer's daily operations, we make a conscious effort to manage our waste product in the most sustainable way possible. We work with local facilities that process shredded paper and soft plastics as well as re-using our packaging materials for protection of goods etc.

4. Local Supplier Network

Being a part of the close community of Australian manufacturers still operational has allowed us to work with the industries best as well as source all our additional needs locally.

We actively choose to support local suppliers on things such as:

  • Packaging and Warehouse supplies
  • Raw Materials
  • Stickers and labels
  • Printed goods such as catalogues
  • Office equipment

5. Carbon Milage

While supporting a local manufacturer and broader supply chain instantly offers many environmental benefits throughout their processing in comparison to many overseas facilities, it also allows for considerable carbon savings through transportation.

The transportation of goods from a local supply source can drastically improve the sustainability rating on a product while also ensuring efficient lead times and availabilities.

As mentioned in point 4., Fischer Plastics also ensures they minimise their carbon milage through sourcing locally on all additional components that go into our daily operations.

6. Packaging

Fischer Plastics chooses to package their vast array of products in premium recycled cardboard cartons and doesn't use any plastic materials inside the cartons. The boxes are specially designed to house Fischer products without the need for any bubble wrap or paper.

7. Industrial Waste

The manufacturing industry is the second biggest contributor (ABS, 2016) in Australia of plastic waste behind households. This alarming statistic is a driving factor that has allowed Fischer Plastics to focus their facilities on producing good quality products that are built to last while minimising their footprint on our environment.
